Cristina Ferraro, Partner - Miranda & Amado
Cristina is a partner in the dispute resolution group at Miranda & Amado in Lima. She has broad experience both in commercial and in investment arbitration proceedings. She represents private investors in arbitration proceedings under the arbitration rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) focusing on disputes related to infrastructure projects, concession contracts and other contracts with the State or State entities. Her experience also includes commercial disputes conducted under the rules of the ICC, the Lima Chamber of Commerce and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR). She is admitted to practice in New York and Peru.
Christian Leathley Partner, Head of Latin America Group and US International Arbitration Group - Herbert Smith Freehills
Christian is the Head of the Latin America Group, as well as the US Head of International Arbitration. He specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration and dedicates much of his practice to our clients' interests in Latin America. He is based in New York and he works closely with the firm’s London, Madrid and Paris offices. He acts for corporations and sovereign states across all major industry sectors, and in particular energy (oil & gas, power), technology, construction, engineering, mining, media and telecommunications. He has over 20 years' experience of working in all countries throughout Central and South America. Christian regularly appears as an advocate before international arbitral tribunals, such as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) as well as American Arbitration Association (ICDR) and UNCITRAL..
Annie Lespérance, Associate Investment Manager, Legal Counsel and Head of Latin America Group - Omni Bridgeway
Annie Lespérance is Head of Omni Bridgeway’s Latin America Group, with responsibility for leading Omni Bridgeway’s commercial arbitration, litigation funding and judgment enforcement efforts in Latin America. Annie is also an Associate Investment Manager and Legal Counsel in Omni Bridgeway's Montreal office, where she sources and assesses investments in international arbitration and commercial litigation matters. She works with litigants to structure funding deals that address their unique needs and provide them insights, when requested, as their cases progress. Prior to joining Omni, Annie was a lawyer at Cabinet Yves Fortier and the Permanent Court of Arbitration where she acted as Secretary to Tribunals in commercial, investor-State and sports arbitrations under various procedural rules and governing laws. Annie has been appointed as an arbitrator and mediator and is a member of various arbitration rosters, including the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (Annex 10-B.1), the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and ICDR Canada's panel of arbitrators. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and was recognized in 2020 in the Future Leaders category of Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration 2021.
Nilufar Hossain, Associate Investment Manager, Legal Counsel - Omni Bridgeway
Nilufar Hossain leads Omni Bridgeway's international arbitration initiatives in the United States.  She is an Associate Investment Manager and Legal Counsel in Omni Bridgeway's San Francisco office, where she is responsible for due diligence and managing funded claims through to resolution, with a focus on international arbitration and cross-border litigation matters. Nilufar provides legal analysis and strategic advice on funding international arbitration and commercial litigation matters based on nearly 15 years of combined experience as a funder, in-house counsel, and a practicing attorney with top global law firms, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP and King & Spalding LLP.She is also a member of our Latin America Group, contributing to Omni Bridgeway’s international arbitration, litigation funding and judgment enforcement efforts in Latin America.
Simon Christian, Editor - Chambers and Partners
Simon was a researcher and later a deputy editor on the Chambers UK team, before becoming editor of the Chambers High Net Worth guide. He has an LLB in Laws from University College London. He also studied for the BPTC at City Law School and was Called to the Bar at Middle Temple.
