Folabi Esan, Partner - Adlevo Capital

Folabi is a Founding Partner at Adlevo Capital, the pioneer private equity fund investing in companies with technology-enabled business models across Sub-Saharan Africa. Adlevo’s investments include Interswitch, Paga and Rancard. His personal portfolio includes passionate founders in sectors including blockchain-enabled remittances, agriculture, fintech, logistics and big media. Folabi served on the board of the Nigerian German Business Association for almost 20 years and as a two-term president, he was instrumental in transforming the Association into a Chamber of Commerce. He is also a founding Board Member of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Association of Nigeria and was the President of the Stanford Alumni Association in Nigeria. A Chevening Fellow, Folabi holds Masters’ degrees from Stanford University and the University of London. Folabi enjoys reading, travelling, live jazz and all forms of art.

Dara-Agnes Ubia, Data Privacy Solicitor- Axiom Law

Dara-Agnes Ubia is a dual-qualified data privacy solicitor (Nigeria and the United Kingdom), with over 8 years of practical experience in European and wider global privacy matters. Having worked in both UK public and private sectors, Dara has advised government departments (particularly in the UK Criminal Justice System) on compliance with EU Data Protection Legislation. Dara has also helped build and shape the global privacy programs of a few multinationals across varied industries – From real estate to Financial services and Energy. With passion and proficiency, Dara now supports organisations with managing, strengthening and monitoring their data privacy programs whilst providing strategic, operational and pragmatic data privacy advice to senior management and business functions globally.

Chukwuyere Izuogu, Senior Associate - Streamsowers & Köhn

Chukwuyere Izuogu is a Senior Associate at the Firm and heads the Firm’s Telecoms, Media & Technology Practice Group, where his practice focuses on all areas of telecommunications, information technology, intellectual property and competition law. Chukwuyere has assisted several clients by either providing strategic legal advice or designing programmes to ensure compliance with their legal obligations. Chukwuyere is the author of Regulating Anti-competitive Practices in Nigeria’s Communications Sector, (Wolf Legal Publishers, Netherlands, January 2017), and co-author on Lexology, where he contributes to the Nigerian chapters on Telecoms and Media, and Dominance. Chukwuyere is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional-Europe (CIPP/E).

Oyeniyi Immanuel, Senior Associate - Streamsowers & Köhn

Oyeniyi “Niyi” Immanuel is a Senior Associate with the Firm’s Corporate & Commercial Practice Group. He acts for and regularly advises the Firm’s clients on issued relating to corporate law and transactions, corporate finance, media & entertainment, gaming and technology. Niyi is a regular co-author of the Nigerian chapter of Lexology’s Private Equity (Transactions) publication. He is also serving as the 2nd Vice Chair of the Young Lawyer's Forum of the Nigerian Bar Association-Section on Business Law and a member of the African Business Lawyers’ Club, Paris.

Joanna Lane Editor - Canada, Africa, Caribbean, the Middle East and Offshore - Chambers and Partners

Joanna joined Chambers in 2010 as a researcher on the Global team, before being promoted to Deputy Editor. She took on the role of Editor of the Canada guide in its inaugural year in 2014, and was appointed editor of Chambers Global (ROW) in 2019. Prior to moving to London she worked at a nightlife magazine in Singapore, and taught English in Taiwan. Joanna grew up in Canada, and graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa with a degree in International Development. She also completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at the London School of Journalism.
