Humberto Pérez-Rocha, Partner, Galicia Abogados
Humberto plays a major role in the Firm’s representation of commercial banks and other financial institutions, strategic investors and corporations on a range of financing transactions including syndicated loans, acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, bridge loans, asset-based loans, project financings, distressed financings and strategic workouts. He has a wide experience in corporate transactions and related regulatory matters involving banks, pension funds, insurance and reinsurance companies. He also actively participates in infrastructure transactions in Mexico, advising private entities participating in public bids and in the structuring and financing of infrastructure projects, such as toll roads, airports and ports. Humberto is also a trusted adviser to public and private acquirers and target companies, private equity firms, and investment banks in a variety of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, and other corporate matters. He has built up a particular experience in transactions in the insurance industry, having advised on some of the largest and most significant insurance transactions over the past five years.
Daniel Levi, Partner, Beccar Varela
Daniel Levi is a partner at Beccar Varela, having joined the firm in 2004. His practice areas include corporate law, with a particular focus in corporate finance, banking law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and commercial contracts. Daniel has extensive experience advising on local and cross-border financial transactions, includingloan facilities, syndicated loans, securitizations, project financings, and distressed acquisitions, acting either on the financial institutions’ or on the borrowers’ side.He also co-leads our Fintech Department, assisting foreign and local initiatives in all the verticals ofbusiness, with special expertise in regulatory aspects. His comprehensive approach allows him to give advice in all the stages of business, from structuring, landing, and capital raising, as well as in daily corporate and regulatory advice. He is strongly committed to projects that generate a positive impact. Daniel obtained his Law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (2006) and a Masters inFinance from the Universidad del CEMA (2011, with distinction). He also has post-graduate studies in Negotiation at Harvard Law School (USA, 2014), in Valuation of Financial Institutions at APIMEC and in Private Equity & Venture Capital at INSPER Institute (Brazil, 2016), in Innovative Banking & Fintech at Imperial College Business School (UK, 2018) and in Digital Banking atUniversidad Di Tella (2018). Daniel worked as a foreign associate at Pinheiro Neto Advogados (São Paulo, Brazil, 2015-2016) in their M&A and Banking & Fintech departments. This experience allowed him, as a co-founder and a co-leader of our Brazil Desk, to be a facilitator for Brazilian investors and Brazilian-based projectscoming to Argentina, and for local entrepreneurs interested in doing business in the neighbor country.
Pedro Eroles, Partner, Mattos Filho
Pedro is a specialist in advisory topics for financial institutions, payment institutions, fintechs and in the most diverse types of transactions involving regulated entities, such as financing (local and cross-border), mergers and acquisitions and debt transactions. He is a consultant for the Journal of the General Counsel for the Central Bank of Brazil and coordinator of volumes 1, 2 and 3 of the collection "Fintechs, Digital Banks and Means of Payment: regulatory aspects of new financial technologies", published by Quartier Latin.
Gianluigi Esposito, Research Manager - Chambers Latin America, Chambers and Partners
Gianluigi joined Chambers as Researcher on the Latin America team before being promoted to Senior Researcher and finally Deputy Editor. He developed his career through various experiences in different consulates between Italy and the UK. He has previous academic research experience investigating social matters regarding the Romani refugee community in Italy. He graduated from the Università degli Studi di Napoli L’Orientale with a BA and MA (Hons) in Languages and Political Science. Gianluigi speaks Italian, English and Spanish.
