Chambers D&I Report: Latin America 2023

For the ninth year, the Chambers Diversity and Inclusion team collected submissions from organisations across Latin America. As always, we were delighted to see continued dedication to developing effective diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programmes, as well as further escalation of pro bono and sustainability work.

Creating the best practice report

Once again, more firms submitted than ever before and continued to demonstrate the increasing sophistication, maturity and impact of their initiatives. From these submissions, we select the most successful programmes by analysing them against our five criteria (advancement, breadth, commitment, impact and originality) and rewarding the deserving firms and individuals at our annual awards ceremony.

This, our third annual D&I Latin America Report (the Report), provides a close look at the most innovative and impactful initiatives submitted through a selection of case studies and individual profiles. The Report highlights the key DEI trends and topics in Latin America this year, providing inspiration, practical tips and best practice guidance.

The key trends that emerged this year were focused on renewed understandings of gender diversity, raising awareness and supporting trans justice and DEI innovation, in which we see novel and innovative efforts to create inclusive cultures at firms.

Each section covers how these successful initiatives were established, the challenges they had to overcome and how they managed to achieve their aims. The combination of case studies and profiles details collaborations from local NGOs to huge multinationals. The common denominator in all the pieces included is absolute commitment to the cause, and a determination to make a difference.

As always, we’ve included editorial pieces from the Chambers Diversity and Inclusion team with our reflections on the key trends in Latin America. We hope that this briefing will help support you in your D&I, Pro Bono and ESG programmes, and look forward to continually collaborating with the legal profession through our research and events.
