Historically, Yoon & Yang is known for its well-known client roasters in technology industries in the fields of litigations, competition/antitrust and intellectual property. Representative clients include Intel, Qualcomm, Microsoft, Coupang, Wemade and Apple.

In January 2023, the firm expanded then-existing new technology team under the umbrella of corporate advisory practice group by establishing independent practice group called, “New Technology Practice Group.” The new practice group is headed by well-known tech lawyer, Kwang-Wook Lee and oversees traditional regulatory issues for broadcasting and communications and ICT sectors and newly generated issues such as privacy, data protection.

The practice group also operates numerous centers that advise clients on industry and specific issues: Information Security Center, Environment Regulation Response Center, Technology Regulation & Dispute Center and ESG Center.

The practice group hired Geonyoung Koh, a Korean attorney and former prosecutor as a partner. Mr. Geonyoung Koh previously worked for eight years as a software engineer at one of the largest IT companies such as Pantech & Curitel and NHN Corporation before starting his prosecutor career. While working as a software engineer, he had an experience in developing search engine program.
