In January 2023, Yoon & Yang expanded the TMT team, previously operating under the Corporate Group, into an independent practice group. Since its establishment, the group has built a strong reputation among clients across the media, information and communications technology sectors, as well as emerging technology industries. Its practice covers a broad range of matters, from regulatory and advisory issues in traditional TMT areas to legal challenges arising from rapidly evolving technologies.

Yoon & Yang’s New Technology Practice Group draws on extensive practical experience and in-depth legal expertise in telecommunications, media and IT, providing comprehensive support on regulatory compliance, dispute resolution and advisory matters related to new technologies.

As the ICT ecosystem continues to evolve—marked by the convergence of media and telecommunications and the emergence of integrated services such as big data, cloud computing, IoT, autonomous vehicles, drones, 3D printing and fintech—the group assists clients in navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. The team advises on business planning, post-regulation compliance matters including M&A reporting and licensing, and represents clients in civil and administrative proceedings.
