About

Provided by Wiley

Wiley is a leader in defending allegations of false claims, civil fraud, and related actions. While Wiley handles False Claims Act (FCA) matters across many industries, Wiley is particularly well-known for defending FCA matters involving government contractors and allegations of procurement fraud. Wiley also handles dozens of FCA investigations or litigation at any given time – for some of the largest government contractors in the world, as well as other small and medium businesses.

Clients turn to Wiley for their experience and sophisticated understanding of the FCA and its intersection with procurement law and other regulatory regimes. With a deep bench that includes former Assistant United States Attorneys, former U.S. Department of Justice attorneys, and a wealth of home-grown talent, the group has expertise with both the most commonly raised FCA claims as well as novel FCA issues.

Wiley has worked with the Fraud Section of the DOJ’s Civil Division Commercial Litigation Branch and has a record of successfully persuading the government not to intervene in qui tam actions and not to bring its suit after investigations. When litigation risks are high, we negotiate favorable settlements that minimize the damage and provide certainty for a client. In cases where the government or a qui tam whistleblower is unreasonable for a settlement, our litigators defend our client’s interests in federal court.
