About

Provided by Walder Wyss Ltd

Walder Wyss was the first large Swiss law firm to build up core competencies in the field of TMT, with the related strategy decision having been taken more than three decades ago. From the outset, Walder Wyss' TMT practice has been growing and was and is unique in Switzerland both as regards size and expertise. Not surprisingly, Walder Wyss was ranked no 1 in Technology and Telecommunications Law by the Bilanz / Le Temps ranking - the first focused ranking by leading Swiss publications on the legal market in Switzerland.
Our TMT team advises on software protection, licensing issues, systems integration contracts, data processing contracts, regulatory and other issues relating to the use of software by financial institutions, outsourcing contracts, online information systems, data protection and electronic commerce.
Trends and buzzwords such as digitalisation or Fintech are not just used for flagging the team’s abilities. Rather, internal cross-department expert groups actively work and elaborate scenarios for the related developments in order to be in the best position to anticipate and grasp with new challenges. A large part of our recent work has been dedicated to financial technology (Fintech) projects, both for established banks (including UBS) and credit card issuers (Swisscard and Aduno), and disruptive newcomers. The same, we were and are in a position to advice numerous Swiss clients on GDPR implementation as it interface to Swiss legislation, US Privacy Shield et al.
