Walder Wyss has gained a large foot print in FinTech, blockchain matters, cryptocurrencies, e-money, paying services and related asset management and has continuously expanded its practice. Walder Wyss is regulatory advising well financial institutions and financial infrastructures as well as start-up companies and VCs in FinTech related transactions and is representing them in complex regulatory proceedings before the relevant regulatory authorities.

Lately, Walder Wyss has advised Deutsche Börse in all regulatory and corporate aspects of joint securities transactions in tokenized shares using Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). In order to execute the delivery versus payment transactions based on DLT, money in the form of cash tokens has been made available to the participants.

The Swiss Bankers Association has obtained Walder Wyss to issue an expert opinion on legal issues arising in the context of its new Cloud Guidelines – Guide to Secure Cloud Banking. Like the Swiss Bankers Association, Walder Wyss has reached the conclusion in its opinion that banks are permitted to use cloud services, including clouds from providers outside of Switzerland.

Thomas Müller and Michael Isler chair the yearly FinTech Seminar of the University of Zurich for five years.
