Particularly, we advised local oil company Copetrol in the acquisition of the local assets of Petrobras, the largest known M&A transaction in the country's history so far.
We have one of the strongest teams in the country in the agribusiness sector. Vouga serves some of the largest grain/commodities companies in Paraguay and is very active in all issues relating with agribusiness – the largest sector in the country’s GDP.
Derived in part from its leading M&A practice, we have undertaken some of the most complex antitrust issues. Vouga is currently handling various sensitive proceedings before the national antitrust agency, as part of ground-breaking transactions in the oil & gas, security, transportation and telecommunications sectors, to mention a few.
The Firm is strongly promoting its Compliance area. Besides regularly advising clients in compliance related issues, the Firm conducted a first-of-its-kind survey among large, medium and small local and international companies doing business in Paraguay, focused on understanding the current state of the art/development in respect of compliance programs in Paraguay.
