We have broad experience with requests to change the Common External Tariff (CET) permanently or temporarily, particularly concerning import tax reductions based on supply shortage or lack of a similar national product. We also guide requests to include or exclude products in Brazil’s List of Exceptions to the CET and List of Temporary Increases in the CET, tackling short-term imbalances arising from international economic crises.

Regionally, the team protects the interests of companies in a wide range of economic sectors, undertaking trade remedy proceedings in other jurisdictions, negotiating the provisions of new trade agreements and interpreting the terms of preferential trade deals.

At the multilateral level, we’re the first and only Brazilian law firm to participate independently and directly in disputes before the World Trade Organization (WTO). There, we assist the Brazilian government and represent the interests of clients in a range of WTO-regulated matters:
