Troutman Pepper’s national regulatory and enforcement team has extensive experience in the private and public sectors across many industries, representing clients before state attorneys general, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Better Business Bureau, and the State Corporation Commission, among many other government agencies.
We are nationally recognized for our work on state attorneys general multi-state and individual investigations, CFPB oversight inquiries, civil investigative demands (CIDs), and supervisory examinations, audits, investigations, and enforcement actions. We also assist clients facing FTC investigations concerning consumer privacy and data security breaches, as well as alleged deceptive or abusive practices by telemarketers, third-party payment processors, and similar parties.
We often advise clients on compliance management systems and other risk management strategies to protect their businesses and have handled a variety of compliance matters for our clients including the facilitation of compliance audits, both on-site and off-site, performance of due diligence reviews, drafting training, and compliance manuals and materials, as well as conducting multistate analyses of state and federal laws.
