About

Provided by Tinoco, Travieso, Planchart & Núñez

The Public Law Department advises our clients in their relations with the various state entities. We analyse the scope, interpretation and constitutionality of laws and other regulatory acts, as well as the constitutionality and legality of the acts and actions of public authorities. We advise and represent our clients in administrative and judicial proceedings, including amparo actions, necessary to protect their rights against any governmental action.

Mining, hydrocarbons and telecommunications activities in Venezuela are highly regulated. Our lawyers in the Department are experts in handling these matters.

We also assist clients in obtaining permits, authorisations, and licences to conduct business in Venezuela, as well as explaining the scope of applicable legislation, particularly as regards food products, health permits, and pharmaceuticals produced in Venezuela.

Other areas of our expertise include public lending, government contracts, customs, urban planning and expropriation, where we advise clients on the best way to protect their property rights.

Our Department frequently deals with issues relating to free competition, consumer protection and unfair international trade practices, representing our clients before the various regulatory authorities in these areas.
