We are frequently involved in cross - border transactions, where a certain part of the transaction is subject to Latvian law, in particular, in relation to establishing of securities (both ensuring appropriate documentation, registration and perfection of the same). Most often we are involved in syndicated facilities agreement transactions, which cover trade financing;
We are consulted as experts of Latvian law, where we are requested to issue legal opinions or consult on certain complex Latvian law issues;
- With expansion of the Banking and Finance practice group we now excel also in capital markets and venture capital areas, including in foundation of investment funds, brokerage firms and consulting on their operations;
- Our expertise is used across departments in due diligence processes of regulated institutions, including credit institutions and insurance companies, in particular in relation to regulatory matters and anti-money laundering regulation;
- We assist also credit institutions in representing them in disputes with problematic and large creditors, including developing of dispute or collection strategy and structuring of bad assets.
