Our banking and finance team is one of the largest specialist finance practices outside the City. We are uniquely versatile in acting on deals of all sizes, from major debt transactions for large corporates through to smaller value loans for SMEs. We provide an individual service and will tailor our advice and pricing depending on the size and complexity of the financing.
We advise an even mix of lenders and borrowers on a full range of banking and finance matters, including acquisition finance, real estate finance and asset-based lending. We also act on restructuring transactions in conjunction with our restructuring and insolvency group, and on corporate borrowing transactions together with our corporate team.
Clients value our commercial acumen as much as our technical strength. When acting for lenders, we take care to understand the lender’s appreciation of the drivers on the transaction. We understand how banks’ internal processes operate and how they deal with risk, with a number of our lawyers having undertaken secondments in major UK banks and other financial institutions. We recognise the need to work in harmony with lenders’ internal procedures and standards. Our lender clients include most of the major UK clearing banks, along with a number of international financial institutions and a growing number of non-bank lenders.
