Sherrard Roe's Construction group helps owners, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers understand and comply with Tennessee’s construction laws. They draft and negotiate construction contracts that advance each client’s interests, they help their clients develop strategies to accomplish their objectives without disputes, and when disputes are unavoidable, they serve as advocates in complex litigation and arbitration involving commercial and residential construction projects, including the prosecution and defense of defect and warranty claims, lien and bond claims, delay and disruption claims, and a wide variety of other complex construction disputes.

Their lawyers have worked on construction matters that range from the very simple to the complex. Among the simple matters, they draft residential construction contracts and mechanics’ and materialmen’s liens, handle construction disputes in General Sessions Court, and fast-track arbitrations. But they also handle some of the largest construction matters in the region, including representing the prime contractor of a major sports and entertainment facility in Nashville in a federal jury trial and representing one of the largest prime contractors in the world in a consolidated arbitration involving the design and construction of nine schools in Memphis, Tennessee.
