Intellectual Property

Our IP team handles matters involving the protection and defense of intangible property, including patents, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks, slogans, trade names, copyrights, transfer of technology, plant varieties (breeder certificates), trade secrets, domain names and other related rights. Our services include preparing and filing all types of applications for protecting intellectual property rights as well as preparing and prosecution of infringement actions, cancellation actions and non-use cancellation actions. We have extensive experience in handling IP claims before federal administrative courts, as well as constitutional writs of amparo review.

Our IP group includes lawyers who are members of IP professional associations, including the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle, the International Trademark Association, Interamerican Intellectual Property Association, the Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Intellectuelle, and the Mexican Association for Intellectual Property Protection. Additionally,

S+S has contacts in law located in most of the countries of the world, including countries that are members of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property Rights and the Patent Cooperation Treaty, and particularly the United States of America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. These contacts help us coordinate our clients’ representation world-wide, in IP matters.
