The firm assists clients in all stages, including in the initial structuring, drafting and negotiation of agreements among sponsors of the project, tax planning and securing specific tax incentives, regulatory analysis, environmental licensing, drafting and negotiation of contracts for carrying out the project, and registrations with the Central Bank and other regulatory agencies. Pinheiro Guimarães handles all relevant financing agreements, including all contracts and agreements covering accessory matters related to the financing, such as security agreements, direct agreements and contracts covering the control of account activity relating to the project.
As an historic example of the firm's work in project finance, Pinheiro Guimarães represented various creditors and banking syndicates in financing transactions for the construction of the hydroelectric plant at Itaipu and the construction of the nuclear energy power plants at Angra dos Reis.
