Overview

We are the largest law firm in Japan and provide the highest level of legal services to our clients throughout the corporate law and finance areas, where we are valued for providing a true “one-stop service” by seamlessly working with specialist lawyers from various practice groups.
Such capability is especially important in the field of labour law, which overlaps with other areas such as M&A, organizational restructuring and bankruptcy, not to mention with regard to advising enterprises on their daily personnel and labour issues and the structuring of compliance systems.
We achieve success in labour disputes by taking advantage of our considerable experience in litigation through the extensive experience of former judge of the special labour division in Japan, Michihiro Mori, our practice group leader.
In cases with international and cross-border elements, we provide advice and guidance having regard for the differences in cultural and social norms by utilizing our attorneys’ diverse language skills.
With the many rapid changes and developments in labour laws, enforcement and court cases, due to the ongoing extensive labour law reform under the Abe administration, we closely monitor the discussions and developments in parliament (the National Diet) and also in various working groups and meetings held by government authorities, and regularly advises our clients on the most recent labour and employment law developments.
