With the opening of our Ho Chi Minh City office in 2010, we were the first Japanese law firm with an office in Vietnam. Shortly thereafter, in 2011, we opened our Hanoi office. Since the establishment of our Vietnam offices, we have been involved in a wide range of matters and industries in Vietnam, including M&A, new business entry, joint venture corporate finance, project finance, infrastructure, oil & gas, urban development/real estate, labor matters, environmental matters, crisis management and dispute resolution.
We provide a full range of corporate/M&A services to some of the largest foreign companies in Vietnam. Recent publishable work highlights include advising:
Stripe International Inc., a Japan-based fashion group, on its acquisition of a 70% stake in Global Fashion Trading Corp., and its acquisition of the business of NEM Group, both in Vietnam; and
Mitsui & Co., Ltd. on its acquisition of a 35% equity interest in Vietnam’s Minh Phu Seafood Joint Stock Company, the world’s biggest shrimp processor.
