Mitchell Williams insurance regulatory practice group handles regulatory issues for insurance industry clients in all 50 states and D.C. The practice group is comprised of a sophisticated team of attorneys and staff with extensive experience representing insurance industry clients, senior regulators at state insurance departments and former in-house counsel at leading insurance companies. The team's combined experience, in-depth knowledge and extensive relationships enables them to serve clients as trusted partners and advisors, and to construct innovative strategies and solutions in insurance regulatory, legal and business matters. 

The insurance regulatory practice group provides strategic counsel on all aspects of state insurance regulation and often works as outside general counsel on insurance corporate and regulatory matters. The team represents clients in matters of insurance company formations, insurance company reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, multistate market conduct examinations, corporate governance, structuring and forming domestic and off-shore captives, and captive re-domestications. The insurance regulatory team represents clients before insurance regulators and advises clients on national and international regulatory compliance, investigations and audits. In addition, the team works regularly with the major insurance organizations and trade associations, monitoring issues critical to the business of insurance.
