Mishcon de Reya has one of the largest independent IP practices in the UK. Sitting at the heart of the Innovation Department, our IP team works with the owners of some of the world’s best-known rights to create value by protecting, enforcing, and exploiting their valuable IP.

 

Our IP group offers a complete range of IP-related services, including: strategic IP advice; trade mark, patent and design clearance and portfolio management; handling IP infringements swiftly and tenaciously; and IP commercial transactions such as franchising and licensing, with the experience and know-how to take on the role of strategic advisor in pursuit of key business objectives. 

 

Our clients range from small start-ups seeking to disrupt existing categories or occupy a completely new space, to global operations looking to exploit emerging opportunities or fundamentally transform entire parts of their business. Our clients operate from a wide-range of sectors, from Retail and Technology to Life Sciences. Each of our sector groups is comprised of lawyers who have deep expertise in these areas, and highlights the breadth of experience amongst our team.

 

On 1 January 2023, Mishcon de Reya and Taylor Vinters merged, delivering on both firms' strategies to support the innovation economy. The merger accelerates our growing share of the technology, media and life sciences legal and consultancy services market in the UK and in key international innovation hubs generally.
