About

Provided by Mishcon de Reya LLP

We act for data controllers, data processors and data subjects on a range of data protection and information law issues, advising our clients on how best to achieve their strategic objectives within an evolving regulatory regime. We are at the forefront of developments in this area, advising clients across a variety of sectors and providing thought leadership, including on the significant issues raised by AdTech, big data, AI and blockchain. We have been supporting students failed by the 'exam algorithm' who took the International Baccalaureate last year and we are acting in the first case against the global mandatory disclosure rules under FATCA. The role of data in society is a key issue for us.

We advise on compliance with GDPR and related legislation and assist with the implementation of data protection policies and procedures. We routinely deal with and advise on the response to any data incidents that may arise, and/or complaints received from individuals.

Our team comprises data protection and data theft lawyers alongside non-lawyer data protection advisers and cyber security specialists, with backgrounds in management consultancy and cyber security.

For data subjects, we work closely with our Reputation Management team on a range of data protection and privacy issues against a range of institutions, the media, political parties, banks and other organisations.
