We advise our energy clients on a broad range of fuel supply, rate design, and resource development matters.  We are involved in complex transactions, such as the development of wind, natural gas, coal, and hydropower generation projects, as well as the siting, permitting, development, and management of transmission lines in the West and Alaska. MRG's attorneys also have a wealth of energy sector experience regarding utility operations and resource development that can prove invaluable to clients seeking to develop renewable energy projects in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Some of our recent work includes: 
  • Assisted in drafting and implementing state law governing removal of hydro project.
  • Represented Idaho Power Company in Rate Cases before the Public Utility Commission of Oregon.
  • Represented T-Mobile in successful request for designation as Eligible Telecommunications Carrier.
  • Represented clients at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in matters involving the Northwester Power Act.
  • Advised utilities on rate matters, including general rate cases and annual power cost updates, in Oregon, Utah, and Washington.​
  • Advised telecommunications companies on matters related to eligible telecommunications carrier (ETC) designation by the Public Utility Commission of Oregon.
