Our Antitrust and Competition Group advises on the full range of antitrust and competition matters, including merger clearance, “dominant firm" issues, cartel defence, State aid, sector regulation and EU law issues such as free movement, public procurement and customs. Operating across Dublin and Brussels, the Group is widely recognised as a leader in Ireland. Established over 30 years ago, we have secured precedent-setting wins in merger control and contentious competition cases, including before the Irish Supreme Court and the European Courts. We pioneered the use of competitive effects analysis and economic evidence in Ireland.
Our State aid and merger control practices are widely regarded as pre-eminent, with experience across complex “3 to 2” mergers and Phase 1 clearances. We also act in cartel investigations and immunity applications, and advise on Irish FDI and EU foreign subsidy regimes. The group encompasses long-standing private practitioners and former high-ranking regulators. We offer clients practical, insightful and pinpointed legal output in a timely and cost-efficient manner, while maintaining the highest standard of work, upon which our group’s reputation has been established.
Our clients range from multinational corporations and State-owned utilities to SMEs, trade associations, regulators and government departments.
