Our antitrust and competition team provides a wide range of services, including preventive advice regarding market power abuse, cartels, control of economic concentrations, and unfair competition; guidance regarding State aid; and representation in related administrative and judicial litigation. The team has honed its expertise in more than 30 merger control notification proceedings before the regulatory authority and has successfully handled dozens of lawsuits and proceedings, including Andean Community disputes, on matters involving unfair competition, market power abuse, and collusive agreements. Since the enactment of the country's free competition legislation, we have acted effectively on behalf of the nation's largest retail chain to ensure its legal compliance with the law.
Based on such experience, members of the team have been appointed as Non-Governmental Advisors of the Superintendency for Market Power Control (the Ecuadorian competition authority) to the International Competition Network.
