ǼLEX is regularly consulted on corporate/project finance matters for projects in the oil, gas, telecommunications, manufacturing and aviation sectors. We advise on financing structure, subordination and credit issues, tax aspects of transactions and regulatory approvals/compliance issues. We assist our clients on such issues as investment and divestment, foreign exchange remittance and restrictions, recording and disclosure requirements, taking effective security whilst minimizing costs, and insolvency.

We represent lenders and borrowers including leading international financial/lending institutions, brokerage and investment companies and other financial institutions. Recent landmark transactions include representation of the security trustee on a US$ 500 million letter of credit and syndicated facility to finance the purchase, storage and sale of refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas in Nigeria by a Geneva based oil trading company. ǼLEX represented lenders in a $1.2 billion dollar syndicated project financing for the development of mobile network infrastructure. We were consultants to an international steel conglomerate on a N 26billion steel project; advised in relation to working capital facilities obtained from banks; also negotiated the security documentation with a syndicate of banks in respect of $100m facility; further advised on N7bn facility from a commercial bank and restructuring of a N22bn facility from a consortium of Nigerian banks.
