The Insurance Law Department offers highly specialised, broad-spectrum services in the insurance sector, including the following:

Drafting technical and legal opinions on regulatory matters;

Assessing the policies and organisation of insurance groups to ensure they comply with the applicable laws and regulations, with specific focus on governance;

Advising on issues regarding compliance and outsourcing of core and non-core activities;

Advising on regulatory issues concerning insurance intermediation, bancassurance transactions, and collaboration among intermediaries;

Assisting in relation to civil and administrative litigation and arbitration procedures;

Liaising with the Italian Supervisory Insurance Authority (IVASS) in relation to (i) the incorporation and authorisation of insurance companies, (ii) the submission of technical queries, (iii) the review of schemes of regulations that are subject to public consultation procedures and participation in such procedures by submitting specific queries, (iv) the drafting of notices and applications in relation to extraordinary transactions, (v) the prior discussion of restructuring and governance projects, and (vi) sanction procedures.
