Our Competition team advises domestic and international clients across the full spectrum of Hungarian and EU competition law. The practice covers merger control, cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, vertical and horizontal agreements, state aid, unfair commercial practices, consumer protection, dawn raids, compliance programmes and competition litigation.
We regularly represent clients before the Hungarian Competition Authority and assist with complex multi-jurisdictional merger filings, acting as Hungarian or coordinating counsel. Working closely with our Corporate and M&A team, we provide integrated advice on transaction structuring, merger control and FDI screening, particularly in regulated and strategically sensitive sectors.
Our clients include leading businesses in the automotive, consumer goods, food, financial services, healthcare and life sciences, technology, telecommunications, logistics, real estate and construction sectors.
Recent work includes advising on the competition and FDI aspects of Indotek Group’s acquisition of full ownership of Auchan Hungary, assisting clients in connection with sector inquiries conducted by the Hungarian Competition Authority, and representing major multinational companies in significant private enforcement litigation.
