About

Provided by Kean Miller

Kean Miller has represented the Louisiana energy industry since its earliest days of oil and gas exploration in the Bayou state. Many of the firm's national and international energy clients came to our predecessor firm in the 1920s for assistance in the acquisition of land for their first Louisiana refining sites. As these companies expanded in Louisiana, so did the variety and complexity of their legal needs. Today, these energy and petrochemical clients continue to rely on Kean Miller for their legal services based on our understanding of the complex needs of the industry, our knowledge of their business, and our unique Louisiana know-how.

Kean Miller represents some of Louisiana’s most prominent industrial companies and independent power producers, water, wastewater, natural gas distribution and transportation utilities, petroleum pipelines and telecommunications companies, and selected public utilities in proceedings before the Louisiana Public Service Commission, City Council of New Orleans, and other state and federal agencies and courts. We also represent clients at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and in other state and federal agencies and courts on electric regulatory issues and in regional transmission organization stakeholder processes. Our clients include large industrial users of energy, non-utility power producers, developers and marketers, intrastate and interstate pipelines, local and long-distance telecommunications providers, and more.
