JT&N's Shipping Team excels in a range of shipping-related matters, with extensive experience in handling litigation cases in 11 maritime courts, including the Supreme People's Court. Many of these cases are foreign-related, covering bills of lading, carriage of goods by sea, charter parties, ship finance, collisions, ship sales and purchase, and marine insurance. Each member holds an LLM or PhD in maritime law and contributes to the revision of the PRC Maritime Code. The team also represents clients in domestic arbitration before the China Maritime Arbitration Commission and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. They have handled over 300 international arbitration cases in London (LMAA Terms and LCIA Rules), Hong Kong (HKIAC AA Rules and HKMAG Terms), Singapore (SIAC Rules), and New York (AAA Rules), primarily focusing on charter party and ship S&P disputes.
With strong ties to foreign law firms, the team is well-equipped to handle cross-border shipping disputes, global ship and bunker arrests, and the enforcement of arbitration awards. They have also served as expert witnesses in litigation and arbitration cases outside China.
