About
Provided by Jesson & Rains, PLLC
In addition to drafting typical estate planning documents, like wills and trusts, Jesson & Rains offers a concierge service, where they assist trust clients with moving their assets into their revocable living trust contemporaneously with the execution of their trust. For complex clients in particular, like business owners, they gather and review information about dozens of different assets, including multiple businesses, parcels of real estate, life insurance, retirement, and bank accounts. They will collaborate with financial advisors and reach out to financial institutions on the client’s behalf in order to have asset transfer documents prepared prior to the signing appointment and signed and submitted the same day.
For clients with minor children, Jesson & Rains offers “kids protection documents.” Most estate plans just name a guardian for a minor child in a will, which only applies if both parents pass away. This leaves massive gaps: what if the parent suffers a medical emergency while with their child? What if there’s an emergency with the child while the parent is out of town? In addition to the core estate planning documents, Jesson & Rains also drafts medical powers of attorneys for minors, emergency contact cards that are laminated and kept in the parents’ wallets, instructions to permanent guardians, and short-term guardian designations, so that, if there is an emergency, a child never has to be with the social services until the permanent guardian arrives.
