More recently, our lawyers handled a complex investigation for General Motors stemming from its widely reported ignition-switch recall and advised the board of an international airline throughout an investigation and negotiation with the government. We represent individuals and businesses in criminal prosecutions, grand jury investigations, extradition proceedings and civil enforcement actions brought by state and federal agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, our lawyers are recognized leaders in counseling and defending clients regarding violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), an area often in the news because of increasingly aggressive government enforcement.
