With one of the premier lobby practices in Texas, Jackson Walker has been engaged in state politics since the early 1900s. Our legislative team practices before regulatory agencies and the Texas Legislature for clients in diverse industries—including agriculture, energy, healthcare, construction, technology, and public utilities. Our team coordinates efforts with private consultants, representatives of government agencies, elected officials, and staff to achieve goals and objectives for clients. Our professionals are skilled at building state-wide coalitions of stakeholders to achieve consensus and make progress on complicated issues.

Representative Experience

• Secured nearly $40 million in the Texas budget for clients such as the Texas Council on Family Violence, Share Our Strength/No Kid Hungry Texas, Learning Undefeated, and more.
• Passed a bill for the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association (the client has been trying to get this same bill passed for 30 years before now).
• Got all of the City of Denton’s priorities passed, including a bill giving them the authority to have a qualified hotel project and receive tax rebates from the state, which is a huge economic development win for them.
• Killed bad bills that threatened First Amendment rights and got bills passed on behalf of the Texas Association of Broadcasters which protected the media and promoted open government.
