HVG Law has a long-standing energy practice in the Netherlands. The energy practice also handle major international energy transactions, regulatory issues and litigation/arbitration, as well as cross-border energy projects, in which we cooperate with law firms from our international EY Law network. Due to the strength of our energy practice, HVG Law coordinates EY Law’s global energy & utilities leadership. 

Industry sector expertise

The HVG Law energy practice specializes in advising and litigating on (the crossroads of) corporate, contractual and regulatory aspects of energy law. HVG Law is one of the few Dutch law firms with a dedicated energy team, which closely cooperates with the firm’s other departments, including competition, M&A/corporate, IP/IT, public & environmental and employment law. In addition, HVG Law partners with EY to create synergies and combine its legal services with the tax, advisory and fraud investigation services offered by EY. The auditors of EY are also important clients of our energy team, as they regularly require advice in respect of energy legal and regulatory matters for purposes of (integrity of) financial accounting .
