The extradition department at Hollingsworth Edwards, lead by James Chaplin, is known for dealing with high volume; high profile; complex; and leading cases before Westminster Magistrates’ Court, the Administrative Court and the Supreme Court.

The department deals with requests under both Parts 1 & 2 Extradition Act 2003 as well as experience in dealing with exceptionally uncommon requests under Extradition Act 1989. In addition, the team deals with ancillary matters that arise out of extradition proceedings such as applications to European Court of Human Rights.

The team consists of a total of 6 qualified solicitors or barristers backed up by a strong team of 3 trainee solicitors/paralegals. Together the team has strong connections with numerous members of the extradition bar to achieve favourable outcomes for clients. Additionally, the team has worked with a wide pool of experts from foreign jurisdictions.
