Hogan Lovells´ Insurance and Reinsurance team in Spain is made up of 19 lawyers fully dedicated to the insurance and reinsurance sector. Our insurance team is unanimously recognized as the market-leading reference in Spain.

The team is consistently involved in the biggest deals within the Spanish market, including bank assurance alliances, traditional M&A transactions (including cross-border mergers and acquisitions), insurance portfolio transfers, VIF reinsurance deals, FOS and ROE operations carried out by Spanish companies abroad, restructurings and the establishment of new insurance operations in Spain.

Our team has a broad experience in regulatory matters affecting the insurance and reinsurance sector, insurance distribution and product design and a close relationship with the Spanish Insurance authorities.

In addition, our team is one of the most valued for insurance and reinsurance dispute resolution in Spain. We are consistently involved in claims in connection with industrial risks (P&C, engineering, construction, aviation, etc.), all forms of civil liability and tort cases (including D&O, E&O, PI, etc.) and insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes.
