Recent cases 

Sebastian Hibberd inquest

– HJA acted for the family in this lengthy inquest. A young child died after suffering a cardiac arrest following a short illness. The family had tried to obtain medical attention on multiple occasions. The Coroner found that there were missed multiple opportunities for Sebastian to receive life-saving treatment.



JN v Homerton NHS Trust - We represented a young boy who suffered from cerebral palsy. The Defendant admitted liability and the claim settled pre-trial in excess of £12m, with a lump sum of £5.95m and periodical payments of over £100,000 for the rest of the Claimant’s life.

AOC v NW London NHST – HJA settled a claim for a young man who was brain damaged at birth due to his delayed delivery. The Claimant resides with his family in Ireland. The final award was lump sum payments of £3.3m sterling and €5m euros. Additionally, the claimant will receive €355,900 per annum to fund his care package. The gross award is a total of €17m over his lifetime.
