HGF Law is a specialist IP practice, led by Martyn Fish. As part of national firm HGF (the second largest patent and trade mark attorney firm in the UK) its focus is solely on contentious and transactional IP matters.

The team in Leeds has a strength in IP litigation across a number of sectors with particular emphasis on healthcare (which includes medical devices and pharmaceuticals litigation) and retail.

Patent litigation is a particular specialism of the Leeds team and in the past 12 months it has been involved in a number cases before the High Court, the European Patent Office, the Court of Appeal and the UK IPO.

The team is consistently involved in high level IP disputes and providing strategic IP advice to clients.

The Leeds team also has a particular interest in design law and is currently acting in a number of substantial design right infringement cases. We are also actively involved in advising clients on recent changes to copyright legislation.

The firm has a worldwide client base and has been particularly active in the Indian market, acting for Indian generic pharmaceutical companies in relation to patent infringement / revocation actions. 

Martyn Fish is a regular speaker and contributor to conferences both in the UK, Europe, US and India.
