Heuristica Discovery Counsel LLP (Heuristica), founded in 2015, is Canada's only national law firm (with offices in Toronto and Calgary) specializing solely in electronic evidence matters, including the provision of eDiscovery counsel advice, document collection coordination and hosting, and document review services. The genesis of Heuristica was the recognition that eDiscovery needed to be done more efficiently and cost-effectively, and with heightened legal skills and more effective knowledge transfer to litigation teams.

Heuristica has demonstrable core expertise in the electronic evidence and discovery aspects of a very wide range of files, including complex criminal and regulatory investigations, commercial and construction matters, insurance defense, class actions, securities law matters, contractual claims, and competition law proceedings. Heuristica has also previously done extensive work in connection with major regulatory and police investigations.

Heuristica works with law firms, corporations and governments. It has also served as electronic evidence counsel to several recent major Canadian judicial inquiries, notably the Ottawa Light Rapid Transit Inquiry and the Public Inquiry into the 2022 Public Order Emergency..
