About

Provided by Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer LLP

The private capital team in Spain advises on numerous national and cross-border M&A, private capital transactions, and distressed assets trades, acting for the sponsor, seller, financing banks, or management. The practice comprises a strong team of partners and associates with extensive experience who advise on the creation and registration of private equity entities, their investments, and provide ongoing advice on the management of their portfolio and ultimate divestments.

An element that sets the team apart from competitors is its multidisciplinary nature, including members from the finance team (advising on both English and Spanish law), the tax team, which has extensive experience in structuring transactions (including both the upstream and the acquisition structures) as well as in drawing up the financial model (together with the client’s team and their financial advisers), and sector experts from the energy, infrastructure, and real estate sectors. The team is led by regional head of corporate EMEA Alberto Frasquet, with the support of partners Nicolás Martín, Armando García-Mendoza, Marcos Fernández-Rico, PSC Carmen Jara and senior associate Paula Pérez-Ardá.
