Harneys has by far the largest litigation and insolvency department in the BVI; more than twice the size of any other. Our size allows us to provide partner-led service to our clients and to respond more quickly and with more resources when circumstances dictate.


No other law firm has the local knowledge or capability of our BVI litigation practice. We have played a leading role in all of the jurisdiction’s landmark matters of the last decade. Our market-leading BVI litigation department, together with those in our Hong Kong and London offices, provide Harneys clients with a significant edge over those represented by other law firms.


We have by far the most experienced non-contentious restructuring and insolvency team in the BVI. They work closely with our litigation department and together have pioneered many firsts in the BVI, from the onset of Norwich Pharmacal and cross examination orders, to contemporary recognition of receiverships.
