Garden Court Chambers' members regularly appear in the Central Criminal Court and specialise in defending individuals charged with highly serious offences, including those relating to murder, terrorism, sexual offences and high-value frauds. Recently, one of its number, Clare Wade QC,  hit the headlines when successfully representing Sally Challen in her out of time appeal against her conviction for the murder of her husband. Ali Naseem Bajwa QC
An "excellent leader" who has extensive experience in handling high-profile and serious crime matters. He also has particular expertise in criminal cases incorporating human rights issues. Commentators say he is highly proficient at conducting the most complex and challenging homicide and terrorism trials. Bajwa was appointed as a Recorder in 2018.

Henry Blaxland QC
A tremendous defence specialist who attracts plaudits from market commentators for his dedication and attention to detail. A master of both serious crime and fraud cases, he comes particularly highly recommended for his expertise in terrorism matters and for his ability as an appellate advocate. Interviewees note that he is extremely well respected by both clients and the judiciary.

James Scobie QC
A well regarded practitioner highly praised for his ability to communicate with vulnerable clients. His practice encompasses all areas of serious crime, taking in murder and manslaughter cases as well as those relating to sexual offences. He also has vast experience of handling gang-related matters. Many of the matters he undertakes attract significant media interest.

Judy Khan QC

Stephen Kamlish QC
