Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes is an international firm with a singular focus: managing international disputes in a result-oriented and integrated manner.

Our practices cover the entire spectrum of disputes management. We represent companies, States and State-owned entities in investment treaty and commercial arbitrations under all major arbitration rules in respect of disputes governed by a wide range of applicable laws, including international law, English law, French law, US law, Egyptian law and the laws of the Middle East, as well as Colombian and Brazilian law, amongst others. We are able to conduct arbitral proceeding in nineteen languages, including English, French, Arabic, Spanish, German, Russian and Portuguese.

With respect to Egypt, we are the only international firm which, rather than rely on local counsel, has built up a team of dual qualified lawyers with significant country experience (currently 5 and should be at 7 by mid-year) who are able to advise on Egyptian law matters and represent clients in matters governed by Egyptian law. Our aim in so doing is to combine the international arbitration expertise and excellence of service that clients expect from first-tier global firms, with substantive representation and advice based on our expertise in Egyptian law and our deep understanding of the Egyptian market.
