The representation statement of Fang Tan was fully adopted by the court and was honoured as one of the top ten legal documents in 2016. Additionally, this case was also named as a typical case of women and children's rights protection by the All-China Women's Federation and Shanghai Women's Federation, contributing to the inclusion of the principle of "the best interest of the minor child" into the Civil Code.
