About

Provided by Eversheds Sutherland

We have a strong construction and engineering team. We act for governments, public bodies, multinational and major national corporations, international contractors, sub-contractors and financial institutions on a wide range of matters including high value/high profile construction and infrastructure disputes.

We also have a strong arbitration team, acting for a wide range of local and international companies in complex arbitrations with values exceeding US$100m. We have experience in the enforcement of arbitration awards in the local UAE and DIFC Courts, including in major arbitration centers in the UAE.

We developed a FSDI practice in the Middle East, aimed at domestic and international financial institutions with a presence in the region. We are currently managing a portfolio of cases for several international and local banks.

Similarly, we have a strong reputation in the field of compliance and risk management. Our work includes the implementation of risk management frameworks, drafting policies and procedures on ethics, anti-bribery, corruption, anti-money laundering and whistleblowing.

We have a team of over 100 lawyers in seven offices across five countries in the UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), Jordan (Amman), Qatar (Doha), Saudi Arabia (Riyadh; Mohammed AlDhabaan & Partners in association with Eversheds Sutherland), and in the Kurdistan region of Iraq (Baghdad and Erbil). Our lawyers are qualified to practice in Middle Eastern jurisdictions, England and Wales, and the US.
