The Competition Law & Policy Group at ELP has an outstanding reputation of delivering result-oriented solutions to its clientele, both national and international, belonging to sectors ranging from IT, ITeS, TMT, pharmaceuticals, fibre cement sheets, cement, ports, sugar, shipping & logistics, telecommunication, automobile manufacturing, automobiles, automotive components and sports.
The Team regularly acts for and represents complainants and defendants in various conduct and/or behavioural inquiries before the Competition Commission of India (“CCI”), the Competition Appellate Tribunal (“COMPAT”), various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. ELP has also been involved in some critical merger control cases that have been approved by the CCI.
The team comprises of lawyers and economists who have a wide-ranging experience in dealing with various aspects of competition law. The team also works closely with ELP’s litigation, tax, and corporate and/or commercial practice groups in order to provide comprehensive support to transactions that could invite scrutiny by the CCI.
ELP has forged a reputation for rendering cutting-edge competition and/or antitrust advice and litigation services to the IT, Pharmaceuticals and the Telecommunications, Media and Technology Industry. The Team remains also extremely active in cartel enforcement activity across industry groups and has emerged as a “go-to” Team for competition and/or antitrust work in India.
