Durham Agrellos, new to the rankings this year, is a boutique tax and private client firm; one of the few such operations in the Portuguese market. It handles tax matters and family business structuring for domestic and international clients, as well as providing advice on family governance and family protocols, succession planning and cross-border wealth management. A client reports that "they are very knowledgeable, objective, fast and always available," explaining that "we consider that their relevant experience and academic background is extremely important and provides significant comfort to our clients and to ourselves. They really think 'outside the box', which is a characteristic that we find hard to find in other firms in Portugal."

The firm is especially noted for work with Brazilian clients looking to relocate to Portugal under the Non-Habitual Resident Regime, and its lawyers often work with Swiss financial institutions and wealth managers on their clients' international relocations. "As a Portuguese law firm that supports Brazilian clients, they have a strong presence in Brazil," says a source, adding: "The team comes to Brazil a few times during the year, which makes it easier to schedule meetings with potential new clients." Another interviewee says that, "according to our experience in different countries, we consider them a top tax and private clients boutique law firm with top-notch client services."
