With globalisation, consolidation and diversification of the financial industry, the banking and finance sector in India has become increasingly complex. Keeping this in mind, it has always been our endeavour to stay ahead of the curve. DSK Legal’s Banking & Finance team works closely with both lenders and borrowers and regularly advises on complex and nuanced deal structures which require a blend of a range of products, including financing, securitisation, restructuring and advisory.

Our Banking & Finance practice broadly covers (i) corporate finance; (ii) structured finance, which can include private placement and public issues of debentures, bonds, debt – equity swaps and other forms mezzanine and bridge financing; (iii) international banking, which includes advising on external commercial borrowings and overseas direct investment; (iv) securitization and factoring; (v) project finance, which includes advising public and private sector banks and financial institutions on financing of infrastructure projects; and (vi) debt restructuring and financing. We are also very active with respect to debt funding in the real estate space, advising most of the major real estate funds in the market.

Our Banking & Finance team also closely works with the Dispute Resolution team in disputes relating to recovery/resolution of distressed assets before the Debt Recovery Tribunal and Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunals.
