Our environmental attorneys help clients assess environmental and natural resource risks, ongoing compliance, and concerns with project development, business transactions, permitting, and government investigations. They work on the full range of environmental and natural resources issues, the emerging body of climate change regulation, and sustainability issues.
Many of our team members worked earlier in their careers as engineers, environmental consultants, or in government. As a result, they understand the science, and how to work effectively with regulators. When necessary, we draw upon members of the firm’s well-regarded litigation and business departments to assist in matters that involve practice crossover. This tradition of collaboration ultimately resulted in the recent merge of the Real Estate & Land Use and Environmental practice groups into our Real Property practice group. Our expanded team – bigger in numbers and more diverse in practices – comprises a bench of attorneys with the skill and industry understanding to effectively pursue or defend any matter.
We keep a close eye on issues related to climate change and environmental justice and how the challenges and opportunities it creates for our clients, and advise them to adapt to a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
