Cozen O’Connor has developed an interdisciplinary, national team of lawyers and government affairs professionals to guide clients through the labyrinthine landscape of the cannabis industry in the United States. Our lawyers counsel multistate and single-state operators in financing transactions, acquisitions, divestitures, intellectual property, real estate, and the related regulatory requirements in connection with those transactions. Further, our team counsels clients with respect to the legal requirements relating to the manufacturing, processing, distributing, marketing, and retail selling of marijuana under applicable state laws. Our cannabis industry team has members located in many of the jurisdictions in which cannabis is legal, and our members in those jurisdictions have become intimately familiar with the regulations in their respective states in order to appropriately and efficiently assist clients in navigating this ever-developing regulatory landscape.

Our team works closely with Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies, a bipartisan government relations arm of Cozen O'Connor. They offer a wide range of government affairs services, including advocating for legislative and executive branches, analyzing and monitoring regulations and policies, managing political and regulatory risks, supporting public affairs visibility, handling crises, and providing assistance with government procurement.
